The Milton Historical Society in collaboration with the Milton Recreation & Parks Department is coordinating events to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America. 2027 will mark the 100-year Anniversary of the Great Flood along with the 250th Anniversary of the Republic of Vermont. In 2028, we celebrate 50 years of your Milton Historical Society. Join us in exploring past and ongoing research on the Revolutionary War, focusing on the Battle of Valcour Bay in October 1776 and its aftermath, while highlighting archaeological work at Valcour Bay, Arnold’s Bay, and the gunboat Spitfire. Together, historical and archaeological evidence provide a deeper and fascinating understanding of key events on Lake Champlain in 1776. Free, open to all ages, and refreshments will be provided
